This course is aimed to provide veterinary practitioners with the knowledge and skills to identify key behavioural outcomes and behavioural goals when delivering TASAH consults to pig farmers and their farm workers. The course will review a sample of past TASAH recommendations from the Pig HealthCheck Welfare, Salmonella and Biosecurity consults and examine how behavioural science can be used to improve the development and delivery of these recommendations, how to facilitate effective group discussion with staff, and how to embed new behaviours into farm routine.


Key learning outcomes are:
• How to use MAP of Behaviour Change to guide conversations during a TASAH consult.
• How to effectively facilitate a group discussion on farm to agree on behavioural goals and outcomes..
• Using open questions, affirmations, reflections and summaries (OARS) to make TASAH consult questionnaires more interactive.
